Abstract

The availability of rice is an important aspect in the development of national food security, so that its availability is necessary to be considered, the availability of rice can not be separated from dried grain of milled will be produced. The greater the grain dried milled, the greater the availability of rice. This research aims to determine the effect of rice consumption, population and rice prices on rice availability in Indonesia in 2017. This research used secondary data and uses cross section data with the OLS (Ordinary least Square) analysis method. The dependent variable in this study is the availability of rice while the independent variable is consumption of rice, the population, the price of rice. The results showed that the population variable has significant effect on rice availability, but price variables have no significant effect on rice availability. The simultaneous test results (test F) indicate that the population has an effect on rice availability in Indonesia.
