Abstract

Adolescence is a period of transition from childhood to adulthood followed by a period of rebellion. This is because at this time there was a change in emotions that exploded and the conflict will be a value that is characterized by easy emergence of problems in adolescents. Adolescence is a period of conflict and conflict that often results in stress in adolescents. The emergence of problems in adolescents is an indication that the achievement of optimal psychological well-being has not been achieved. The level of psychological well-being is influenced by several factors and one of them is religiosity. This study aims to determine the relationship between religiosity and the psychological well-being of adolescents who live in orphanages. The research hypothesis proposed is that there is a positive relationship between religiosity and the psychological well-being of adolescents who live in orphanages. The method used in this quantitative research is correlational. Data collection uses a scale of psychological well-being and scale of religiosity. The research subjects were taken by cluster random sampling technique. The research subjects were teenagers who lived in Muhammadiyah's orphanages and Aisyiyah's orphanages in the Surakarta Residency numbering 150 people. Analysis using product moment correlation techniques, and the results obtained are a positive relationship between religiosity and psychological well-being of adolescents who live in orphanages, which are seen from the results of data analysis which shows the correlation results r = 0.395 and p = 0,000 (p≤0.01) . The magnitude of the contribution of religiosity affects psychological well-being of 15.6% of the results can be known to test the hypothesis proved there is a significant relationship between religiosity and psychological well-being.
