Abstract

Histology Practicum is a compulsory subject for students of the Biology Education Study Program FKIP UMS, weighing 1 credit. This practicum contains practical skills that must be possessed by every student. Skills in Histology practicum are expected to have a relationship to the results of student achievement lab work. This study aims to determine the relationship of Histology practicum results with the ability of science process skills in third semester students of Biology Education FKIP UMS academic year 2018/2019. This research is an associative descriptive study. The research subjects were third semester students of the Biology Education Study Program FKIP UMS who took the eyes of the Histology Practicum for the 2018/2019 academic year totaling 78 students. Data in the form of the value of the ability of science process skills, the value of the pretest and the value of the report obtained from practical activities. The results showed that the highest level of mastery of science process skills of students in the Histology Practicum was the aspect of using tools and materials while the level of mastery of science process skills of students in the lowest Practical Histology was the written aspect of communication. The average value of science process skills is 81.73 and the results of lab work are 77.57. Based on the results of data analysis it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between the results of the histology practicum with the ability of science process skills of the Biology Education Students of FKIP UMS in the 2018/2019 academic year in sufficient categories of 0.421.
