Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between social support with the psychological wellbeing on teenagers who living in orphanages, to know the level of social support on teenagers who living in orphanages, to know the level of psychological wellbeing on teenagers who living in orphanage, and to know the donation of social support for psychological wellbeing on teenagers who living in orphanage. The method used in this study is quantitative, while the scale of social support and psychological wellbeing is used as a method in collecting the data. The population of this research is teenagers who living in 7 of 22 orphanage Surakarta Residency of Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah. Subjects in this study were 150 teenagers who living in orphanage selected using cluster random sampling method. The analysis technique used is product moment correlation. Result of data analysis got result that there is relation between social support with psychological wellbeing at teenagers in orphanage. This can be seen from the result of data analysis showing correlation result that is (rxy)= 0,433 and p = 0,000 (p < 0,01). The empiric average of psychological wellbeing is 73,62 which shows the category of psychological wellbeing is high. The empiric average of social support is 101,46 which shows the category of social support is high. The amount of donation of social support for the psychological wellbeing is 18,7%. From these results it can be known to test the hypothesis proved that there is a significant relationship between social support with the psychological wellbeing.
