Abstract

The aim of this study is to obtain an overview of resilience towards children with incest sexual abuse. This is a qualitative study; case study, where the data is collected by interview. Informant of this research was determined by purposive sampling technique. This research has only one informant that was a child with incest sexual abuse in Surakarta. While this research has another informant, that was the children’s mother as a proponent informant. Data of this research was analyzed by thematic technique, while perspective triangulation method is used for validity on this research. This study show that, after getting sexual abuse from her dad and her brother, informant could conduct resilience even though she had initially turned into a moody and sad person. Social support from mother, grandmother, and informant’s teacher is super meaningful towards informant resilience progress. The self-concept of informant who is optimistic, independent, and hopeful also greatly helps informant to resilience. Doing positive activities in a better environment, get a ranking in new school and having best friends in new school are also things that encourage informants to do resilience. So from this research we know that how the resilience prosess and what factor that affected on child of incest sexual abuse.
