Abstract

Background: Lower back pain is the highest type of complaint in the physiotherapy department of dr. Soehadi Prijonegoro Sragen Public Hospital. Kaltenborn manual mobilization is one of the useful modalities of manual therapy in physiotherapy to reduce low back pain. Objective: This study aims to determine the effect of Kaltenborn's manual mobilization to reduce pain in patients with low back pain in RSUD dr. Soehadi Prijonegoro Sragen. Method: This study was pre-experimental (quasi expiremental) with one group pre-test-post-test design research design, the study was conducted on 28 lower back pain patients Physotherapy departement in RSUD dr. Soehadi Prijonegoro Sragen, the research instrument was visual analoqe scale (VAS) , taking pre-test data by filling in the visual analoqe scale (VAS) for 1 week, after being given the Kaltenborn manual mobilization with 5-10 minutes duration performed post test with visual analoqe scale (VAS), testing data with the Wilcoxon test with a significance level <0.005. Results: Moderate level of pain 85.7% and severe pain 14.3%. After the Kalternborn manual mobilization, the level of pain of the respondent half said that the pain was mild and the other half the pain was moderate with a significant effect (p = 0,000). Conclusion: Kaltenborn manual mobilization has an effect on reducing pain in patients with low back pain
