Abstract

Snacks often contain a lot of carbohydrates, a little protein, minerals and vitamins, so that breakfast cannot be replaced by snacks because of incomplete nutrition inside. Based on a preliminary survey at SD Muhammadiyah 16 Karangasem, the data showed that most students did not have breakfast habits around 41.66% and the students who had snack habits around 60%. This research aims to determine the description ofbreakfast and snackhabitsof the students in SD Muhammadiyah 16 Karangasem.The research used cross sectional design, there were 45 students around 9-10 years old, that choosed by purposive sampling. The data on breakfast and snack habits were obtained by interviewing using 24-hour food recallfor 7 days.The results of the study showed that thestudents who did not have breakfast habits around 57.8%. While the students who had snack habits, they were around 62.2%.The students who had snack habits, usually they tend to not having breakfast.
