Abstract

Introduction Women's health after giving birth is the most important factor that can affect the health of the mother and her children. Preparations to deal with postpartum conditions need to be done since the time of pregnancy. Mothers feel lack of time and personal space in controlling their lives. One of the preparations made by mothers before the postpartum period is to increase the knowledge of pregnant women about the postpartum period through health education. This study aims to examine the effect on the level of knowledge of pregnant women before and after being given health education in postpartum care in Kartasura Village Kartasura District Sukoharjo Regency. Research Methods This study used a type of pre-experimental research, quantitative analysis using pretestposttest design without the control group (one group pre and post test design). The study population was all pregnant women in October 2018 who were given by the Kartasura Village Midwife to researchers, namely 82 pregnant women. 45 research samples were obtained by purposive sampling technique. Data collection research using questionnaires and analyzed using paired sample t-test. The research results obtained by tcount of - 5,805 (p-value = 0,000), then the test decision is HO rejected. The conclusion of the study is that there is the influence of health education about the postpartum care of the snowball throwing method on the knowledge of pregnant women in the village of Kartasura.
