Abstract

Neck pain is a feeling of discomfort around the neck, neck pain can also be defined as pain that is felt in the area bounded by the thoracic spinous process one and the lateral area of the neck, while non-specific neck pain is a perceived mechanical pain between the occiput and thoracic one and the surrounding muscles without a definite cause. Traction cervical & SWD traction can reduce pain complaints in neck pain. To determine the effect of traction cervical & SWD to decrease pain in complaints of neck pain in Bagas Waras Hospital Klaten. This study used the quasi experiment method using the two group pre and post test design with control approach. Where subjects were given treatment in the form of SWD & traction and SWD & TENS. The normality test uses the Shapiro Wilk test, the effect test uses paired sample t-test and independent t test. Based on the results of the treatments carried out by researchers, the results showed that SWD & traction had an effect on reducing pain in complaints of neck pain. The statistical test for the effect test using Paired Sample T Test obtained p = 0,000 (<0.05), the effect of different tests using Independent Sample T Test obtained p = 0.613 (> 0.05). From the results of the study concluded that there is an effect of Traction & SWD on the reduction of pain in complaints of neck pain (Neck Pain).
