Abstract

Heart Failure (Heart Filure) is a complex syndrome where the heart is unable to pump blood throughout the body. One effort that can reduce it is to provide knowledge of self management and knowledge about disease. The implementation of education can increase knowledge and reduce revitalization. This study aims to determine the description of the implementation of education in heart failure patients who are hospitalized at Dr. RSUD Moewardi Surakarta. The type of research conducted is quantitative with a descriptive approach. The sample in this study were 60 respondents with heart failure patients taken by purposive sampling. Using research instruments in the form of characteristic data and questionnaires for the implementation of education as many as 25 items that are subject to Self Care Of Heart Failure Index (SCHFI). Data processing techniques using univariate descriptive frequency technique tests. The results of this study 1 were most respondents aged 45-65 years, male sex, elementary school education and had heart failure >1 year and suffered NYHA II and NYHA III heart failure educational material based on the knowledge of the disease that respondents get the most is less and self-care material that is enough. Most of the education that respondents received during treatment can be clearly accepted using oral techniques, 1 time, for 5-10 minutes and not using educational media. The conclusion of this study is the implementation of education from educational materials should be given well, structured and comprehensive. And supported by the use of educational media.
