Abstract

Adolescent is a period of transition from children to adults. It was during this period that sexual and psychosocial maturity relationships were characterized by puberty. Puberty affects the increase of sex libido on adolescents. This is what drives teenagers to access pornography through internet media. One of the factors that influence adolescents in accessing internet pornography is self control. This study aims: 1) To determine relationship between self control and intensity of accessing internet pornography on adolescents. 2) To determine the level of self-control on adolescents. 3) To determine the level of intensity of accessing internet pornography on adolescents. 4) To determine the effective role or contribution self-control of intensity of accessing internet pornography in adolescents. The subjects in this study were students of the Faculty of Communication and Information at Muhammadiyah University Surakarta aged 18-22 years, totaling 96 people. The sampling technique uses incidental sampling. The data collection tool used in this study is the scale of self-control and the intensity scale of accessing internet pornography. The results of the analysis obtained a correlation of rxy = -0.731 with a significance of 0,000 (p <0.01) which means that there is a very significant negative relationship between self-control and the intensity of accessing internet pornography. Subject self control is high (49%). The level of intensity of accessing subject internet pornography, classified as moderate (43.8%). The effective contribution of self-control to the intensity of accessing internet pornography was 53.5%. These results also show that there are 46.5% of other factors that affect the intensity of accessing internet pornography, such as gender, personality, situational, environmental, and interactional.
