Abstract
Chronic kidney disease is a non-communicable disease that has a high rate of morbidity. Kidney replacement therapy is needed to survive when the kidneys stop working, one of them with dialysis. Based on USRDS, there were 87.3% of individuals in the United States starting kidney replacement therapy with hemodialysis. The conditions that often occur in patients with chronic kidney disease who do hemodialysis, one of which is the IDWG (Interdialytic Weight Gain). The amount of the increase in IDWG value can have a negative effect on the patient's condition. The bigger the IDWG the greater the amount of excess fluid in the body. Excess fluid is a major risk factor for morbidity and mortality in hemodialysis patients. To control the IDWG value, family support is needed in regulating and controlling the fluid intake consumed by patients. The purpose of this research is to know the relation of family support and Interdialytic Weight Gain (IDWG) in patients with chronic kidney disease in the Hemodialysis unit at RSUD Boyolali. This research uses a descriptive correlative design with a cross sectional approach. Sampling in this research was non random sampling with accidental sampling and obtained a sample of 51 respondents. The research instruments used were questionnaires, weight scales, medical records and sheets for recording the results of the respondents' IDWG values. This research uses the statistical analysis test Kendal Tau (τ). Data of family support is obtained that the majority of respondents had good family support (82.4%) and most respondents had IDWG values with a category of mild increase (52.9%). The results of the Kendal Tau (τ) statistical analysis showed that the p-value was 0.785 (p-value> 0.05). So it can be concluded that there is no relation between family support with Interdialytic Weight Gain (IDWG) in patients with chronic kidney disease. Keywords : Family support, chronic kidney disease, Interdialytic Weight Gain (IDWG), hemodialysis.
