Abstract

Deviation behavior in adolescent are growing excessively in society. The main caus is less harmonious in family. This research was aimed to understand the relation between adolesents with delinquency and their parents. A case study is used in this research to explore deeply the phenomenon directly from informants. The data collecting process was conducted through interview and field note. This research involved 12 informants from four families with different economic status and consisted of a father, a mother, and a adolescent. The result showed the relationship between adolescents and families was in a conflict and violence. This is reflected in families who often use verbal and physical abuse, also negative labeling to adolescents. Parents in four families are forced regulations towards adolescent. It caused them collide with the regulations oftenly. However, the control carried by family with middle to lower economics status who applied regulations by using authoritarian communication style. While families with (high to middle economics status use permissive communication style hence adolescents with high economic status end up dropping out from school in the middle of the level. Feeling not accepted and losing trust from the family, making adolescent seek acceptance outside home, thus creating delinquency motivation in adolescents.
