Abstract

ABSTRACT The city of Surakarta has several cultural attractions including the Kasunanan Palace and the Mangkunegaran Palace. The two objects are partly poorly maintained, it seems that the lack of museum guards who are responsible and professional in maintaining existing heirlooms and accessibility is less like the absence of public transport directly to the destination, so that visitors who come to tourism objects are reduced. The purpose of this study is to analyze the internal and external potential of tourism objects and analyze the development of tourism objects in each tourist destination. The method used is survey and field observation. The data needed are primary data and secondary data. The sampling method uses purposive sampling. Data analysis in this study was carried out by SWOT Analysis. The results of this study indicate that tourism objects in the city of Surakarta have a classification of internal and external potential, namely the Kasunanan Palace and the Mangkunegaran Palace. Tourism development can be done by maximizing the quality of tourism objects by completing and repairing facilities that are starting to be damaged along with routine maintenance and complete facilities and infrastructure that do not yet exist by conducting cooperation between the government and tourism objects with related parties. The SWOT analysis analyzes the internal and external potential and analyzes the development of tourism objects in the Kasunanan Palace and the Mangkunegaran Palace, the Matrix can clearly illustrate how strengths, threats, opportunities and disadvantages.
