Abstract
ABSTRACT Boom cylinder is component of front excavator. It functions to move bucket optimally by using hydraulic oil flow. The boom cylinder reduces its work performance when there is problem and damage in its inner parts. The analysis of the final report is done by collecting data from several direct observations, which has no booming cylinder damage and by understanding information of the experienced supervisor and mechanics. It can be used as base of the problem analysis, the performance disorder of the boom cylinder component may be caused by several factors, such as contamination in boom cylinder, internal and external leakage, and overheating in boom cylinder component. These factors decrease the power in the boom cylinder component. The cause of the boom cylinder damage is varied. It may occur because of many factors, including the use of unit by operator, work step and other factors causing boom cylinder damage. It can be minimized by proper maintenance of each component, adapting and keeping the cleanliness of the hydraulic oil capacity in the system.
