Abstract

This study aims (1) to describe the implementation of character education through Islamic culture in schools, (2) to describe the success of character education through Islamic culture in schools, (3) to describe the constraints of character education through Islamic culture in schools, (4) to describe the solution to the problem of character education through Islamic culture is at the school of MI Muhammadiyah karanganyar. This qualitative research uses ethnographic research design with techniques for collecting direct observation data, in-depth interviews and document studies using the validity test of source and technique triangulation data and data analysis using Miles Huberman's interactive analysis model. The results of the study show (1) character education through Islamic culture in MI Muhammadiyah Karanganyar carried out in the first two ways integrated through the teaching and learning process in the second class through identification carried out outside the learning process (2) the success of character education through Islamic culture in MI Muhammadiyah Karanganyar can seen from the attitudes and behavior of children (students) daily in carrying out the culture or habituation in school (3) the obstacles faced in the implementation of character education at MI Muhammadiyah Karanganyar is that not all teachers and employees have one voice in treating students in accordance with the existing rules in school, the large number of students makes control of children's attitudes towards Islamic culture in schools less than optimal and not all student guardians follow up on Islamic cultural programs in schools (4) solutions to equate perceptions and establish cohesiveness in implementing rules or rules that have been made and in the program and school. Collaborating with student guardians to equalize perceptions of school programs to follow up on programs that have been implemented in schools in their homes.
