Abstract

Central Java Province is one of the tourist destinations in Indonesia which has been known both nationally and internationally. It has various potentials that should be explored and developed. Klaten Regency is one of the regencies in Central Java Province which has several objects which are one of the potential tourism objects to be developed. Therefore, it is possible to be used as an analysis of potential object and direction for its development. This study is aimed ; 1) analyzing internal potential, external potential and combined potential and 2) analyzing the environment based on the level of combination potential. There are two techniques used in this study, both of them are; scoring techniques to answer the purpose of number 1 and SWOT analysis to answer the purpose of number 2. The results of this study are; (a) tourism objects that have high internal potential, namely Umbul Ponggok, Umbul Ingas, and Umbul Jolotundo; (b) Penants ‘umbul’ is tourism objects that have high external potential, namely Umbul Ponggok, and Umbul Ingas; and (c) and tourism objects with high aggregation potential, namely Umbul Ponggok and Umbul Ingas. Active direction of SWOT analysisis to develop tourism objects in Klaten Regency namely; (a) makes the attraction attractive for tourism objects, and (b) complements the supporting facilities and complementary attractions
