Abstract
Background: The lack of maternal nutrition knowledge is one of the factors that influences the incidence of infantstunting. Mothers with lack of nutritional knowledge tend to provide their children with food regardless its nutritional content, quality and diversity.The high level of maternal participation in every Posyandu activity can influence the improvement of nutritional status of children under five, this is because Posyandu can be assumed as one of the right approaches to reduce morbidity and mortality and can improve the nutritional status of children under five.Based on the data obtained from the Sawit II Health Center, Sawit Subdistrict, Boyolali District that the Kemasan Village as the village with the highest number of stunting toddlers in 2016, that was 9.5% of children with stunting and 10.5% of children under five with severely stunting, with participation rates to Posyandu (D / S) of 62.37% which is still below the target of healthy Indonesia in 2010, which is 80%. Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between maternal nutrition knowledge and the level of maternal participation in Posyandu with nutritional status according to TB / U in children under five in Kemasan Desa Sawit District, Boyolali Regency.. Methods: This study uses a cross sectional method. The population of this study was toddlers aged 12-59 months. Sampling using proportional random sampling method, a sample of 48 respondents. Retrieving data on maternal nutritional knowledge wasby using questionnaire, collecting data on the level of maternal participation in Posyandu was by using KMS, while retrieving data on stunting nutritional status was by using TB / U. Statistical analysis was performed by using Chi-square test. Results: The results showed that the knowledge of maternal nutrition was mostly in the good category of 85.42% and the participation rate of mothers to Posyandu was mostly in the active category of 58.33%. The results of chi-square test of nutrition knowledge of mothers with nutritional status according to TB / U was p = 1,000 and participation rate of mothers to posyandu with nutritional status according to TB / U was p = 0.875. Conclusion: Based on this research, it can be concluded that there is no relationship between maternal nutrition knowledge and the level of maternal participation in Posyandu and nutritional status according to TB / U in children under five.
