Abstract

Internet addiction is one of behavioral addiction that refers to the failure of individuals to control their desires excessively, causing problems with things that should be done by the individual. Depression is a psychological disorder characterized by sadness, loss of interest or pleasure, feelings of guilt, sleep disturbances or appetite, feelings of fatigue, and poor concentration. The goals of this study is to find out the relationship between internet addiction level and depression level with student achievement in Senior High School of Batik 2 Surakarta. The Method of this research is observational analytic with cross sectional approach. The study was conducted at Batik 2 High School Surakarta in December using IAT and BDI questionnaires, data were analyzed statistically using descriptive analysis, Chi Square analysis and logistic regression analysis. Bivariate analysis using the Chi Square test with the internet addiction level obtained p value 0,000 which did not have a significant correlation. The variable degree of depression obtained p value 0.799 which has a significant correlation. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that there is a significant correlation between the level of internet addiction and learning achievement but there is no significant correlation between the degree of depression and learning achievement at Surakarta Batik 2 High School.
