Abstract

The aimed of this study are describing (1) literature text contained on students’ book Indonesian of VII grade SMP (2) describing the type of material in the sasta text and (3) describing the relevance of the teaching material of the literary text in VII Indonesian student book based scientific approach. This study is a descriptive qualitative research. The data in this study is a word, phrase, sentence, and discourse as well as the table that is a literary teaching material on students’ book Indonesian of VII grade SMP. Sources of data in this study student book VII grade SMP. The data was validated by triangulation technique theory. Data analysis technique used is content analysis. The results of this study were (1) the type of literature contained on student’ book Indonesian of VII grade SMP are rhymes, poems, couplets, fantasy story, and fable. (2) teaching materials for literary texts in Indonesian books in class VII contain types of aspects of cognitive learning material (facts, concepts, and procedures), affective (assessment), psychomotor (speaking, writing, reading and listening); (3) literature teaching material contained on strudents’ book have relevant to scientific approach, is questioning skills.
