Abstract
This study aims to (1) describe the form of morphosyntactic errors found in the description text of Boyolali State Middle School 3 students. (2) to describe the factors that cause students to make mistakes in writing essay text descriptions. (3) to express efforts to minimize morphosyntactic errors committed by students. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The data collection technique of this study uses referencing, note-taking, and interview techniques. Based on the results of data analysis, fifteen students' essays were found 9 errors in using prefixes ber-, 2 errors in removing the prefixes ter-, 1 error in removing the prefixes meN-, 5 errors in using the suffix –nya, 2 combined writing errors prefixes meN- with suffixes –kan, 6 writing errors are filled composite prefixes di- with suffixes -kan, 18 prepositional writing errors, and 30 errors due to pleonasms. The most errors are in the prepositions of 30 errors. There are three main factors that underlie the background of students making language errors (1) factors from school and teacher, (2) factors from students (3) environmental factors and students' past. Efforts to minimize student language errors can be done by (1) increasing writing practice (2) strengthening the mastery of language rules (3) efforts from the school and the teacher.
