Abstract
body that has the ability to contract. Muscles are classified into three types, namely skeletal muscle, smooth muscle and heart muscle. One of the functions of the muscle is as a frame builder. The muscle that will be discussed in this study is the abdominal muscle. PNF or Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation stimulates proprioceptors to increase the need for neuromuscular mechanisms, so that an easy response is obtained. EMG helps to distinguish between muscle conditions where problems begin in muscles and muscle weakness due to nerve disorders. To determine the effect of irradiation on the application of PNF with a pelvic pattern to increase the strength of the rectus abdominis muscle. This study used an observational method where respondents were observed to measure the maximum muscle strength before and after PNF was performed. Based on measurements of rectus abdominis muscle with pelvic pattern on anterior-elevation and posterior-depression patterns with a sloping position (left side muscles in the upper position) increased strength, the results of rectus abdominis muscle measurements in the anterior-elevation pattern of the left side muscles are greater 75% compared to the right side while the posterior-depressed pattern of the left side muscles is also 66.3% greater than the right side. PNF with pelvic pattern (anterior elevation and posterior depression) can provide an irradiation effect in increasing the strength of the rectus abdominis muscle.
