Abstract

Community participation is a mandatory requirement in implementing Community Based Tourism (CBT) in a Tourism Village with the aim of providing benefits to local residents. It is known that one of the tourism / village tourism development goals is to improve community welfare (Law No. 10 of 2009). CBT practices have so far not been carried out in a Tourism Village, so the Tourism Village in terms of development and management is still relatively low and the potential of tourism villages has not been well developed. Based on this, the purpose of this research is to analyze the potential of Pentingsari Tourism Village and to study the implementation of CBT in Pentingsari Tourism Village. This study uses two methods, namely observation and interview. The results of the observation data show the first goal, namely the potential of Pentingsari Tourism Village, while the results of interview data show the second goal, namely the implementation of CBT in Pentingsari Tourism Village. The results of the study were seen based on the first objective, namely the potential contained in Pentingsari Tourism Village can be assessed from five variables, namely attractions, activities, accessibility, amenities and other supporting facilities and the results differed according to observers' observations. High potential can be seen from the variables of attractions, activities and amenities, while the potential is found in accessibility variables and other supporting facilities. The second research result is related to the implementation of CBT. Pentingsari tourism village has implemented the CBT system in its development and management. This can be seen from the process of planning, development, management, monitoring and evaluation carried out from, by and for local residents. It cannot be denied if this Tourism Village gets many awards both from within the country and abroad.
