Abstract

The prevalence of stroke in Indonesia bassed on health personnel diagnosis is 7,0 per mile and 12,1 per mile for those diagnosed with symptoms of stroke. The higest cases occurred in North Sulawesi Province (10,8%) and the lowest in Papua province (2,3%), while Central Java Province amounted to 7,7 % and in 2012 stroke cases in Surakaarta were quite high, the number of ischemic stroke cases in all ages as many as 135 cases. The purpose of this study was to determine the relation of age, hypertension, smoking habits with mortality of ischemic stroke. This study used an observational analytic study with a cross sectional design. The number of study respondents was 74 respondents with purposive sampling technique. Bivariate analysis using Chi-Square. Multivariate analysis using logistic regression test. age did not affect mortality in patients experiencing ischemic stroke (p = 0.316, OR = 1,221). Hypertension has a significant effect on mortality mortality in patients who experience ischemic stroke (p = 0.001, OR =). smoking did not significantly influence mortality (p = 0.0689, OR = 0.153). The results of Nagelkerke R Square were 0.230 which means the effect of age, hypertension and smoking on mortality was 23.0%.
