Abstract
In Indonesia a high prevalence of ISPaA was found at 25% based on diagnosis and population complaints according to the 2013 basic health research results. In line with many ISPaA patients, many antibiotics are prescribed to treat ISPaA patients. The use of antibiotics alone must be monitored properly because the possibility of antibiotic resistance can occur in the use of antibiotics that are not wise. So this study was conducted to evaluate the rationality of antibiotic use by looking at the appropriate indication, appropriate drug, appropriate patient, and the appropriate dose given to the patient. The study was conducted retrospectively by balancing the patient's medical record with the Republic of Indonesia Minister of Health Regulation Number 5 of 2014 concerning Clinical Practice Guidelines for Doctors in Primary Health Care Facilities as a reference. From the results of 100 medical record data of patients at the Dirgahayu health center in Kotabaru Regency, South Kalimantan for the October-December 2017 period, founded antibiotics used were Amoxicillin 83%, Cefadroxil 16%, and combination of Cefadroxil-Erythromycin 1%. The rationality of antbiotic use is 9,4% with appropriate indication 39%, appropriate drug 27,5%, appropriate patient 27%, and the appropriate dose 9,4%.
