Abstract

Diarrhea is the third leading cause of death after Tuberculosis and Pneumonia. In 2016 happened 3 times the biggest of unusual event in 3 provinces, one of them in Central Java with the number of sufferers is 198 people with Case Fatality Rate (CFR) is 3,04% (more than 1%). In 2016 the proportion diarrhea incidence in Central Java is 68,9% and in Boyolali incidence rate is 17,1%. HHLB aims to change the behavior of school member and people around it so the environment become healthy, so can prevent the disease, increase health, and helping actively in realizing a healthy environment. This research determine the association of healthy and hygienic life behavior (HHLB) and snack behavior with diarrhea incidence in elementary school 1 Kemiri, Boyolali. This study used a cross-sectional study design and was carried out in elementary school 1 Kemiri, Boyolali. The research subjects were 69 respondents taken by quota sampling technique. Collecting data on HHLB, snack behavior and diarrhea using questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the chi-square test and logistic regression test. The results of the logistic regression test showed that there was significant relationship between healthy and hygienic life behavior (HHLB) with diarrhea incidence (p=0.01) and between snack behavior with diarrhea incidence (p=0.06). Healthy and hygienic life behavior (HHLB) and snack behavior are significantly related to diarrhea incidence.
