Abstract

ABSTRACT RELATIONSHIP OF PARENTING STYLE AND KNOWLEDGE ABOUT REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH TO PREMARITAL SEXUAL BEHAVIOR OF HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS Farah Aziizah1, N Juni Triastuti2 Medical Faculty of Muhammadiyah Surakarta University Background: Adolescence is a period of transition from childhood to adulthood which is characterized by the presence of physical, social, and psychological maturity that is directly related to personality, sexual, and social roles of adolescents. Unhealthy sexual behavior among adolescents, especially unmarried teenagers tends to increase. factors that influence sexual behavior in adolescents, one of which is family relationships and low knowledge about sexual behavior. Sexual behavior carried out by adolescents results in increased sexual problems. Objective: To determine the relationship between parenting style and knowledge about reproductive health on premarital sexual behavior of high school students. Method: This study used a cross-sectional study design and was conducted in November 2018 at SMAN 4 Surakarta. The sample size was 72 respondents taken by cluster sampling technique. Retrieving data using a questionnaire. Data were analyzed by univariate, bivariate and multivariate tests. Results: The results of the chi square test found that there was a relationship between parenting style towards premarital sexual behavior (p = 0.000) and there was a relationship between reproductive health knowledge on premarital sexual behavior (p = 0.026) and logistic regression results with OR parenting 0.000 and knowledge 0.313.
