Abstract
The purpose of this study describes the planning, implementation and evaluation of character education through habituation in SMP Muhammadiyah Darul Arqom Karanganyar. This research using qualitative approach with phenomenology research design. Research subjects were principal, teachers and students of SMP Muhammadiyah Darul Arqom Karanganyar. Method of collecting data using in-depth interview, observation and documentation, data analysis techniques using interactive analysis. Research results (1) Character education planning through habituation is based on school vision and mission, starting with school meetings to identifying and developing character development activities, and program implementation strategies, delegating authority to teachers according to duties and responsibilities and conditioning. (2) Implementation of character education through habituation done in the form of religious habituation, programmed habituation in learning and extracurricular, cooperative habituation, and leadership habituation. (3) Character education evaluation is conducted by principals, school committees and parents using data on activity reports, activity schedules, and by looking at the accountability of the program implementers, as well as accountability of financial use in financing activities.
