Abstract
Technological developments in the construction field are progressing, both in assembly and maintenance. As technology advances in the field of construction, making welding needs increasingly needed. So that brazing is one of the alternative picking processes for metals that have low weldability because melting occurs only in filler metals. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of soft type alusol filler and local filler with variations of gap (gap) by using a lap joint connection on aluminum material. In this study the methods used for this testing process are sem and edx tests, tensile tests, and macro and micro photo tests. The test results show that the chemical composition of soft type alusol filler contains the composition of Carbon (C) 26.02%, Alumina (Al2O3) 4.51%, Zink Oxide (ZnO) 68.07%, and Cesium Oxide (Cs2O) 1.40 %. For soft type alusol filler (flux) contains several compositions namely Carbon (C) 15.88%, Alumina (Al2O3) 2.99%, Zink Oxide (ZnO) 79.86%, and Cesium Oxide (Cs2O) 1.27% . Whereas for local filler material contains the composition of Carbon (C) 22.43%, Alumina (Al2O3) 63.03%, Silica Oxide (SiO2) 12.50%, Chloride (Cl) 0.21%, Potassium Oxide (K2O) 0 , 16%, Calcium Oxide (Cao) 0.17%, Iron (II) Oxide (FeO) 0.77%, and Copper (II) Oxide (CuO) 0.75%. The highest tensile strength occurs in soft type alusol filler with a gap of 0.2 mm with a value of 80,087 N/mm and the lowest tensile strength in the local filler with a gap of 0.2 mm with a value of 58,174 N/mm. The occurrence of a capillary reaction and defects in the connection affect the strength Pull. The capillary reaction is best at 0.2 mm gap with a soft type alusol filler.
