Abstract

This research is entitled “Analysis of Factors Affecting Absorption of Labor in Java Island in 2006-2016”. The aim is to analyze the influence of gross regional domestic product (GRDP), regional minimum wages, domestic investment and inflation on the labor force absorption in Java Island in 2006-2016 .The dependent variable is labor absorption, while the independent variables are GRDP, regional minimum wages, domestic investment and inflation. The data were secondary data with panel data regression analysis, from 6 provinces in Java Island (Banten, Jakarta Capital Special Region, West Java, Central Java, East Java, and Yogyakarta Special Region) in 2006-2016. Thus n = 6 and t = 11 so that the total data is 6 x 11 = 66. The result of the analysis are the results of the Chow test and the Hausman test the best model is the fixed effect method (FEM). The results of the t test can be seen that the variables of gross regional domestic product (GRDP) and domestic investment have a significant effect on the labor force absorption the while the variables of regional minimum wages dan inflation have no significant effect on on the labor force absorption. F test result indicate that the model uses exists. R2 obained a value of 99,64% which means that 99,64% variation in labor absorption can be explained by the variables of gross regional domestic product (GRDP), regional minimum wages, domestic investment and inflation. While the remaining 0,36% is explained by other independent veriables not included in the model.
