Abstract

This study aims to show the form of ambiguity and its improvement and the causes of ambiguity found in the problem of difficult puzzles (TTS) in the humorous Indonesian television humor program. This research uses qualitative descriptive approach. The data in this study is the ambiguity of the phrase in question difficult puzzles (TTS) in Indonesia Time television program Joking humor. Data collection techniques refer to techniques capable Engaged free (SBLC) and transcript data. Analysis of the data in this study using techniques pragmatic frontier. The result of this research is to find a form of ambiguity in three levels. 1) phonetic level, 2) the grammatical level, and 3) the lexical level. The cause of the ambiguity in the matter of difficult puzzles (TTS) in the television program Time Indonesia humor kidding whom aresound that is involved in the construction of the sentence, meaning a different sound, the absence of a predicate function in the sentence, the absence of the element of interrogative sentence, the sentence is too wide context, the absence of the question asked, the sentence construction is not completed, the use of polysemy, and the use of homonyms.
