Abstract

Porters are workers who work by selling services transporting goods/materials from one place to another. In general, the worker uses the body as a means of transport such as carrying, caressing, or shouldering. One complaint that occurs in porters is a complaint on the musculoskeletal system. . Based on a preliminary survey conduted on pelvic porters in Market Gede Porters Surakarta on 6 workers there were 2 people experiencing moderate complaints and 4 people experiencing mild complaints. The purpose of this study was to find out there was a relationship between work posture on lifting and transport work with musculoskeletal complaints of pelvic floor at Pasar Gede Surakarta. This research is an analytic observational with cross sectional approach. The sample in this study were 40 porters. Statistical test using a Pearson Product Moment with a significant level (α = 0.05). Univariate analysis results obtained as many as 3 pelvic port workers experienced moderate complaints (7.5%) and 37 people experienced low complaints (92.5%), while the results of work posture bivariate analysis of musculoskeletal complaints obtained values (ρ-value = 0.030) , then Ha is accepted, whereas if seen from the correlation coefficient (r) of 0.151 then it has a moderate degree of closeness. So it can be concluded that there is a relationship between work posture and musculoskeletal complaints with moderate closeness. It is recommended for porters to not lifting weights beyond ability limits, increasing the number of members so that work carried out is lighter and completes faster, utilizes the best rest time possible and conducts health checks.
