Abstract
This study aims to evaluate the installation of Cold Air Injection (CAI) and Hydrocarbon Crack System (HCS) against internal combustion performance. The parameters evaluated were torque, power, and specific fuel consumption. The installation of CAI and HCS devices was placed on the intake manifold of a motorcycle 150 CC. Testing was done with three variations, which are CAI with ambient temperature (CAI T∞), CAI with thermoelectric cooler temperature (CAI TTC) and combination of CAI and HCS (CAI TTC + HCS). Torque and power tests were performed alternately for each variation at 4500 - 9000 rpm, while specific fuel consumption tests performed at 4500 - 8000 rpm engine speed. The results showed that the optimum internal combustion performance was obtained in the combination of CAI and HCS. The maximum torque generates by 10,982 Nm at 5500 rpm rotation. The maximum power generates by 8,810 kW at 8500 rpm rotation. The average reduce of specific fuel consumption generates by 22,66 % compared to standard conditions.
