Abstract

The final drive planetary gear is a component that forwards power to the wheel or track, so the unit can move. This analysis has purpose to find out the damage, analyze damage, and find out the load acting on the gear. The inspection procedure is by performing a visual check on the Final drive component and disassembling the Final drive. Then an analysis of the load acting on the gear is carried out. The results of the analysis show that there is damage to the gear component in the form of bending failure due to excessive load or shock load. The calculation results show that the dynamic load on sun gear is 6397.88 N, the static load is 12167.79 N. The dynamic load pinion is 14390.95 N while the static load is 14635.33 N. The dynamic load on the Ring gear is 17865.14 N while the load is static is 18,777.41 N. Safe conditions for the gear to hold a shock load is static load \geq 1.5 dynamic load. This means that calculation of pinion gear and ring gear does not be suited as the requirements. So with the same dimensions, the component must be replace to the stronger material.
