Abstract
Nowadays, children prefer choosing snacks with tasty flavor, cheap prices, attractive wrappers and striking colors without paying attention to the nutritional balance and the impact on their health. The earlier survey showed that 69,7% students had bad nutrition knowledge, 15,2% students had no supportive attitude, and 15,2% students had bad behavior of choosing healthy snack.The study is aimed atfinding out the correlation between the students’ nutrition knowledge level and attitude in choosing healthy snack of Gonilan 02 Public Elementary School.this is an observational study with cross sectional design. The population are 57 students and the sample was collected by using simple random sampling technique with minimum total of 30 students from class IV and V. The variable level of nutrition knowledge, attitude and behavior were tested using questionnaire. The data was then analyzed by usingRank Spearman correlation. The result showed that 63% students had bad knowledge level of choosing healthy snack.The results showed no correlation between nutrition knowledge level and choosing healthy snack (ρ=0,119) and there wasa correlation between attitude and choosing healthy snack (ρ=0,011). Variable level of students’ nutrition knowledge, attitude, and choosing healthy snack were tested by using a questionnaire.There is no correlation between nutrition knowledge level and choosing healthy snack, however, there is a correlation between attitude and choosing healthy snack.
