Abstract
Language errors are deviations that are systematic, consistent, and describe the ability of students at a certain stage (which is usually not perfect). Language errors with language learning have a close connection especially in the process of writing text, which often occurs in elementary and middle school students. This study aims to analyze (1) the form of errors in the use of Indonesian language in the writing of the description text, (2) the cause of errors in the use of Indonesian in writing text. First, the form of error in the use of Indonesian language in writing the description text, is divided into four errors: errors in making text descriptions, errors in making sentences, errors in words and word selection, errors in writing spelling and punctuation. Second, the cause of errors in Indonesian language use in writing the description text is divided into two, namely internal factors include: students feel difficulty in making sentences, difficulty stringing words into sentences, confused choosing the initial words in making sentences, lack of interest in reading and practicing writing texts, and knowledge is not broad. External factors include: bad friend influence, such as talking to yourself when the teacher explains in front of the class, lack of support from parents to study outside school hours with tutoring, a less conducive atmosphere in the teaching and learning process, and lack of student activity in learning.
