Abstract

This study was to determine, 1) the implementation of the planting of the character of discipline and responsibility through scouting activities at SDIT Nur Hidayah Surakarta, 2) Obstacles in the implementation of the character discipline and responsibility through scouting activities at SDIT Nur Hidayah Surakarta, 3) Solutions to overcome obstacles to the planting of character discipline and responsibility through scouting activities at SDIT Nur Hidayah Surakarta. This research is a qualitative research. Sources of data in this study are Principals, Scout Guards, and Class Teachers with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. The Validity of the researcher uses method triangulation, source triangulation. In analyzing the data interactively consists of data collection, data reduction, data presentation and clonclusion drawing. Researchers can draw conclusions that 1) the planting character of discipline and responsibility through ceremonial activities memorizing the basic principles, marching rules and rigging, 2) The constraints in the cultivation of the character of discipline and responsibility include lack of scout coaches, student still lacking discipline, 3) Solutions to overcome barriers to character planting include the addition of scout coaches and punishment
