Abstract

This study aims to describe the understanding of the concept of opportunity through Discovery Learning learning model assisted by diagga dice tools in class IX in Plupuh 1 State Middle School in Sragen. This research is a collaborative classroom action research where researchers and teachers collaborate in conducting research. The subjects of this study were students of class IX G Plupuh Sragen 1 Public Middle School 2017/2018 school year. Data collection techniques use observation, tests, field notes and documentation. Data analysis techniques using data reduction, data presentation and verification or drawing conclusions while the validity of the data uses trianggulani techniques. This study uses 2 cycles where each cycle consists of two meetings. The results of this study indicate that there is an increase in understanding the concept of opportunity by using the Discovery Learning learning model assisted by dice props. This is seen in the results of the concept comprehension test that reaches a percentage: 1) restating a concept 55.58% to 78.33%, 2) classifying objects according to certain properties 58.65% to 88.47%, 3) giving examples and not examples of a concept 69.05 to 84.17%, 4) presents concepts in various forms of mathematical representations 57.70% to 85.50%, 5) develops necessary requirements or sufficient requirements from a concept 55% to 76.50%, 6) uses and uses and selects certain procedures or operations55.56% be 81.61%, and 7) apply the concept or algorithm in problem solving 57% to 78.17%.
