Abstract

Sleman Regency is one of the regencies that are known to have a lot of potential both in nature, tourism, and others, one of which is in Prambanan District. Prambanan Subdistrict there are tourist attractions that are currently on the rise because it presents a charming natural beauty and also has its own characteristics. The beauty of nature and the creativity of the population such as the making of handicrafts that can be used as souvenirs for tourists also help in recognizing tourist sites in the Prambanan District. In addition to natural beauty, facilities, accessibility, activities that offer tourists interest to visit. The existence of new tourism potential in Prambanan Subdistrict can add attraction to tourists. This study aims to determine the potential and analyze how the direction of tourism development is used to expand the reach of the community in knowing, knowing, and enjoying tourism in Prambanan District, Sleman Regency. The method used in conducting research is surveys, observations, and interviews with related parties. The results of the study showed that the condition of existing tourism objects was quite good, although there were still facilities that were felt to be less supportive. The results of the internal potential classification result in the Prambanan Temple and Ratu Boko Palace having a high classification, the Breksi Cliff produces a moderate classification, and for the Ijo Temple and Tourism Village the New Ngelepen Dome House has a low classification. In contrast to the results of the external potential classification, Prambanan and Tebing Breksi temples have a high classification, Ratu Boko Palace and New Ngelepen Dome House have a moderate classification, and Candi Ijo has a low classification. The development strategy based on the results of the SWOT analysis is to develop and support tourism that has the potential, conduct good management and planning, as well as improve infrastructure facilities in tourism objects, increase promotion by optimizing the natural potential and uniqueness of each tourist attraction, as well as increase the involvement of the surrounding community in managing tourism objects. The strategy is carried out by distributing brochures to tourists who visit, utilizing social media for further recognition to foreign countries.
