Abstract

Travel reduction gear on the compactor is a useful component as a switching device comprising a planetary gear set. Planetary gear is a gear arrangement consisting of three elements: the sun gear, the planet gear (the intermediate gear or the rotating between the sun gear and the ring gear) and the ring gear (the largest gear wheel toothed in as a palanetary gear set set). The planetary gear function is to reduce the rotation so that the output of the out put rotation becomes smaller. The purpose of this study was to identify the damage and rotation of the planetart gear as final drive on the compactor Wirgen HAMM 3410. The damage examination was done directly in stages in accordance with the procedure of examination. Checking can be done by checking the condition of oil and planetay gear components. The result of the analysis shows that the noise reduction in the travel reduction gear is indicated by the bad oil condition and there are pieces of logan attached to the drain plug. This causes the travel reduction gear not to work properly.
