Abstract

Specifically the objectives to be achieved, namely knowing the increase in motivation and learning achievement seen from (1) IPS Geography (2) Through STAD type cooperative learning. The research subjects, Class VII students in Semester II of Gondang State Middle School 2 Gondang District, Sragen Regency, amounting to 20 students consisted of 12 boys and 8 girls. The research uses data collection methods, observations, interviews and field notes. The research instrument was developed by researchers along with the partners of Class VII Semester II teachers at SMP Negeri 2 Gondang, by maintaining content validity. The data analysis technique was carried out in a qualitative descriptive manner. Descriptive analysis, to describe the implementation of the research learning model Qualitative analysis with the flow method, namely the improvement of Cycle 1 and Cycle 2. The results of the study were (1) Increased motivation and learning achievement of Class VII Semester II of SMP 2 Gondang, Gondang District, Sragen Regency. IPS Geography learning achievement, observed from indicators (a) ability to declare assignments (b). Ability to give examples, (c) ability to use, and choose certain procedures. (2) Cooperative Learning. Before the research action, student learning achievement is obtained through exercises. At the time of the study, both the Cycle I class action and the Cycle II student achievement were obtained through assignments, individual assignments (homework), middle-action tests and final tests of action increased.
