Abstract

This study aims to describe the errors of seventh grade students in solving the PISA problem in Space and Shape content. Types of errors based on the Newman procedure are errors in reading questions, transformation errors, process skills errors and writing error answers. The type of this research is skinfactor research. The subjects of this study were seventh grade students at MTs Al-Mu'min Muhammadiyah Tembarak 2017/2018 school year. Data collection techniques used in this study are test techniques, documentation techniques and interview techniques. The validity of the data uses technical transculation techniques and source transference, while data analysis techniques use data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The percentage of errors made by students is a reading and understanding error of 0% including a very low qualification error, a 40% transformation error including a moderate error qualification, 36% process skill error including a low qualification error and 44% answer writing error including qualification moderate error. From the results of the research that has been carried out this study aims to find out the failure of class VII students in working on PISA questions on Space and shape content at MTs Al-Mu'min Muhammadiyah Tembarak with an error procedure according to Newman.
