Abstract
The purposes of this research are: 1) To find out the contribution of learning motivation to the learning independence of class of 2017 accounting education students of Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. 2) To find out the contribution of the learning environment to the learning independence of class of 2017 accounting education students of Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. 3) To find out the contribution of learning motivation and learning environment to the learning independence of class of 2017 accounting education students of Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. The research method that is used in this research is quantitative descriptive and the conclusions are obtained by the results of statistical analysis. This research took place at Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. The populations in this study were all class of 2017 accounting education students of Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta totaling 274 students with the amount of samples are 152 students that were taken by proportional random sampling technique in a random way. Data obtained through questionnaires that have been tested and tested for validity and tested for reliability. The data analysis techniques that are used are multiple linear regression analysis, t test, F test, R2 test, relative and effective contribution. The result of data analysis of multiple linear regression equation Y = 32,030 + 0,488X1+ 0,250X2 which means that learning independence is affected by learning motivation and learning environment. The conclusions obtained are: (1) Motivation to learn has a positive effect on the learning independence of class of 2017 accounting education students of Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta, it is proven by the regression analysis which obtained thitung = 4,285 > ttabel = 1,980 at a significant level of 5%. (2) The learning environment has a positive effect on the learning independence of class of 2017 accounting education students of Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta, it is proven by the regression analysis which obtained thitung = 2,193 > ttabel = 1,980 at a significant level of 5%. (3) Motivation to learn and The leaning enviroment has a positive effect on the learning independence of class of 2017 accounting education students of Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta, it is proven by the regression analysis which obtained the value of Fhitung = 243,288 > Ftabel = 3,928 at a significant level of 5%. (4) Learning motivation variables effective contribute of 41,8%. Variables in the learning environment make an effective contribution of 28,2%, so the total effective contributions of both are 70%, while the other 30% are affected by other variables that are not examined.
