Abstract
Engine breakdown is a condition where the engine cannot turn on or cannot be operated. Action to overcome this problem by overhoul which consists of disassembly, engine component inspection, tear down report and assembly. Then a further examination is carried out with the aim of knowing the damage to the engine components and knowing the main cause of the engine breakdown of the DE 12 TIA model, as well as knowing the repair steps. The inspection procedure is carried out by observing the components of the engine which consist of measurement and visual checks that produce the Tear Down Report report. Then testing the components that become the diasnostic is the main cause of the diesel engine breakdown model DE 12 TIA. The inspection results of the diesel engine breakdown model DE 12 TIA suffered component damage consisting of standard parts, damage parts and missing parts. Whereas the main cause of engine breakdown due to overheating is affected by a injection nozzle number 2, the pressure is far below the standard of 160 bar. The repair step is done by replacing the damaged component (assembly) and adjustment.
