Abstract

This study aims to develop and produce comic learning media on flood disaster material. This research also aims to create an effective learning process and can improve student learning outcomes. This research is a development research. The product developed is a comic learning media for flood disaster. The development model used in this study is the Thiagarajan development model. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Kartasura. The subjects of this research trial were students of class VII C as an experimental class. The data analysis technique used in this study is the T-test test analysis technique. The results of the study show that: 1) Based on the assessment of the material and media experts, comic learning media is suitable for learning as a learning medium in the material of flood disasters. 2) The acquisition of the pre-test and post-test scores which only had a difference of 0.95, which was initially the pre-test score of 72.85 and the post-test to 73.80 indicating an insignificant increase in conventional methods. 3) In the experimental class the acquisition of the pre-test value is 55.45 and the post-test value has increased, namely 76.59 indicating that after the use of comic learning media there is an increase in student learning outcomes.
