Abstract
Student mobility flow continuing education to College has increased, due to the modern society are incresingly aware of the importance of education. Mobility activities in the field of education can not only happen from the region to the city, but can occur from city to city like Jakarta to Surakarta, because some of his life in the capital region’s needs are not being met or are experiencing stress. Thus arose the desire to make the shift to areas that are considered able to meet the needs. This research aims at : 1) Analyzes the characteristics of the original students of Jakarta who does mobility to Surakarta 2) Analyzes the factors that affect the occurance of mobility. Data collection by survey method used in this research use the sampling method in non-probability sampling, quota sampling stratified with techniques on student origin object DKI Jakarta who enrolled in Surakarta, by administering quotas at every strata of force yearof College with a sample of students at two universities in Surakarta. The results showed thatthe chacaracteristics of human behavior in one area can affect the occurance of the decision-making process for conducting mobility students such as age and gender, region of origin, the choices of courses. Dominant factor be the driving factor, namely the desire of the individual to live independently wit a wander and a home town that no longer conducive in creating continuity choice better education supported the atmosphere of support and the cost living is cheap. The presence of student mobility activities can provide opportinities to expand the occurence of interaction between the two areas and social interactions between humans.
