Abstract

This research was aimed to describe: (1) Socio-historical background of Pukat novel by Tere Liye; (2) Development Structure of Pukat novel by Tere Liye; (3) Social Aspect in Pukat novel by Tere Liye; (4) Relevance of the structural analysis and the social aspect of Pukat novel by Tere Liye toward learning material of Bahasa Indonesia in SMK. This research used content analysis is descriptive-qualitative research. The result of this research showed that: (1) Structural analysis : the theme of Pukat novel is wisdom, honesty, friendship, and simplicity of life. The plot used in the novel is chronological plot. The characterization of the novel divided into main character and additional characters. The setting of the novel used place, time and social setting. (2) The social aspect of Pukat novel were social problem, economy, poverty, and conflict. (3) Result of the social aspect analysis in Pukat novel by Tere Liye was the relevance as learning material of literature in SMK.
