Abstract

Automation is one realization of technological development, and is an alternative to obtain a fast, accurate, effective and efficient work system, so that more optimal results can be obtained (Dahlan, M. et al. 2013). A gripper is an active link between the control device (such as a robotic arm) and a workpiece or more generally between the grasping organ (usually the gripper finger) and the object to be obtained. The gripper uses pneumatic system equipment including rotary cylinders, double piston cylinders and gripper. Gripper takes an important role in material handling but the trainer kit has not done an analysis of the ability of gripper as material handling. The air gripper can grip cylinders ranging from 20 mm to 50 mm, the maximum load that can be lifted is 9.4 kg and can lift weights by rotating 190 degrees in the pneumatic gripper. Vertical cylinders can move back and forth from 55 mm to 23 mm, and the maximum load that can be lifted is 3.5 kg. The horizontal cylinder can move up and down from 65 mm to 17 mm and the maximum load that can be lifted is 29.2 kg. Rotary cylinders can rotate from 00, 300, 600, 900, 1200, 1500, until 1900 by setting the limiting bolts and the maximum load that can be rotated is 62 kg. The shape of the material held is a cylinder with a diameter of 2 cm, 3 cm, 4 cm, and 5 cm. The overall pneumatic gripper can lift the maximum load with a pressure of 5 bars is 7 kg.
