Abstract

A Card game is an interesting media for children and gives a fun situation for children to improve their communication and language ability fluently. The fact that happened on the field was that there was still a teacher that did not use learning media optimumly. Children just sit and listened a story from teacher without giving them a chance to come forward and retell what was told by the teacher. The aim of this research was to improve children’s language ability through card game on children of group A at TK PGRI Menjing Pandeyan Ngemplak Boyolali in academic year of 2017/2018. This was a classroom action research with a process of two cycles consisted of four stages, planning, taking action, observarion and reflection. The subjects of this research were teacher and 12 children of group A TK PGRI Menjing. The percentage of average improvement of children’s language ability before action until cycles 2 was precycles 50,52%, cycles 1 improves to 61,72%, and cycles 2 improve to 82,03%. The result of this research stated that by using card game can improve children’s language ability. The conclusion of this research was that there was improvement towards children’s language ability through card game learning process in TK PGRI Menjing Pandeyan Ngemplak Boyolali.
