Abstract
Abstract This study aims to determine the role of transformational leadership style on employee performance. The subjects of this study were 50 employees of the Surakarta City Environmental Service. The sampling method used in this research is non probability sampling. The method used in this study is a quantitative method with a measuring instrument in the form of documentation of employee performance with a scale of transformational leadership style. The data analysis technique used in this study is Spearman's Rho statistical analysis. Based on the results of data analysis obtained the correlation coefficient (r) of 0.046; p0,375 (p≥0,05) which means that there is no significant relationship between transformational leadership style and employee performance at the Surakarta City Environmental Service. The variable transitional leadership style has an Empirical Mean (RE) = 155.54 which belongs to the high category, while the employee performance variable has (RE) = 79.41 which is classified as medium. Effective contribution in this study does not exist because the results of the study showed no significant positive relationship between transformational leadership style and employee performance.
